Hey everyone....just wondering when i can start...

Hey everyone....just wondering when i can start giving my bubs any finger food. Do babies need to have teeth to chew the food....or can they manage just sucking and biting with their gums?? I have tried bits of bread and some watermelon but i am finding that if the smallest bit breaks off, she will gag and act like she is going to choke...it can be a bit scary. Any suggestions!! :)
